POLICY OVERVIEW & PURPOSE

Our Covid-19 company policy includes the measures we are actively taking to mitigate the spread of coronavirus. The health and safety of our staff, customers and guests is Muskoka Extreme’s number one priority and it is important that we all act responsibly and transparently to these health precautions. We are taking the COVID-19 pandemic very seriously and responding by developing extensive, clear policies and protocols to safeguard all staff, customers and visitors who take part in Muskoka Extreme activities. We ask that you follow all these rules diligently to sustain a healthy and safe environment for yourself and others. 

IMPORTANT

This company policy applies to all of our employees, owner, coordinators, instructors, volunteers, coaches and office staff. This policy also applies to all customers and visitors – whether participating in activities or not. 

Prior to attending a Muskoka Extreme lesson, it is up to each customer, staff member and guest to do a self-health assessment. All of our participants must complete the COVID-19 waiver including their email and/or phone number to help with contact tracing/informing. Please do not put yourself, anyone else or our businesses at risk if you are unwell.

Our staff participates in rapid testing twice a week to ensure the safety of the Muskoka Extreme community and everyone involved. 

PROTOCOLS

 Please note that all protocols should be strictly followed, and no exceptions are to be made. Please review the following protocols and actions we are taking to ensure your safety and the safety of all staff, visitors and customers.

PUBLIC SAFETY MEASURES & HYGIENE PRACTICES

·    All employees and customers must wear a face mask/covering at all times except for when they are in the wate

·    Employees and customers are required to wash their hands after using the toilet, before/after eating and if you cough/sneeze into your hands (follow the 20-second hand washing rule or hand sanitizer rule). We also encourage you to regularly use hand sanitizer for any/all other instances. These are located on all the water vessels for your convenience and safety.

·    Cough/sneeze into your sleeve, preferably into your elbow. If you use a tissue, discard it properly into one of our garbage cans and clean/sanitize your hands immediately.

·    Avoid touching your face, particularly eyes, nose and mouth with your hands to prevent from getting infected.

 SANITATION & SAFETY

·    All common areas (steering wheel, seats, handles, etc. on the boat) and equipment (lifejackets, boards, helmets, ropes etc.) will be sanitized between customers

·    Employees must wash and/or sanitize their hands between customers.

·    We politely remind all visitors and customers that ONLY the Staff Members and Participants are allowed on the dock, please do NOT approach the dock when a lesson/session is taking place.

BOAT SAFETY

·    All drivers will remain at 6 ft or greater distance away from the participants taking their lesson at all times.

·    All boats will go out with (1) spotter only.

·    No additional spectators will be permitted in the boat until physical distancing measures are lifted.

GENERAL ACTIVITY & VISITOR SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS

·    We recommend that you attend Muskoka Extreme activities only with those in your family or members of your social bubble

·    We will be reserving the right to refuse service to anyone who arrives with a fever or cold/flu symptoms. PLEASE NOTE: we have updated our cancellation policy for COVID-19, so if you are feeling poorly, contact Muskoka Extreme immediately to discuss options for rescheduling. 

·    We are dedicated to our customers, visitors, community and staff. If we see anyone putting another person at risk by not adhering to our protocols, we will provide a warning and if the behaviour is not suitably rectified – we will ask you to leave. 

CLIENT CANCELLATION DUE TO ILLNESS

·    If you have a fever - no matter how gradual - you will be asked to reschedule your appointment 

·    If you have cold symptoms - such as cough/sneezing/fever - or feel poorly, please stay home. You will not be charged a late cancellation fee – we just ask that you call us as soon as possible.

·    If you have a positive COVID-19 diagnosis, you may only schedule a clinic/lesson after you’ve fully recovered, with a doctor’s note confirming your recovery.

·    If you have recently returned from out of the country, you must remain home for 14 calendar days and return to our activities only if you are fully asymptomatic.

·    If you’ve been in close contact with someone infected by COVID-19, with high chances of being infected yourself, please consider the safety of your fellow water sport enthusiasts and stay at home.

Please note this policy is subject to change and will be updated on an ongoing basis in accordance with government guidelines and regulations, so please check back regularly. We appreciate your patience with us as we navigate these changing times and please be aware that this policy and associated protocols will be adapted over time as information and regulations change. Please respect that we remain the right to adjust any of the protocols once they are in practice in order to ensure the safest environment for all staff, customers and visitors
